Viessmann commercial heat pump on R290

GERMANY: The latest R290 air-water heat pump from Viessmann Climate Solutions is designed for larger residential and commercial buildings and businesses.

The product of a new production line at the company’s Berlin factory, the Vitocal 250-A PRO offers flow temperatures of up to 70°C

Described as one of the quietest heat pumps of its kind, the Vitocal 250-A PRO features a sound-optimised fan with intelligent speed control. The result of extensive development work in the Viessmann sound laboratory, the heat pump achieves a sound power level of 60.9dB(A) in noise-reduced operation.

The heat pump, which won an iF Gold Design Award 2024, incorporates a scroll compressor with infinitely variable output adjustment and electronic expansion valves.

The Vitocal 250-A PRO indoor unit offers numerous functions: up to three mixed heating/refrigeration circuits and a seasonal buffer cylinder are already included.

Hot water can be generated using a cylinder charging system or with a cylinder charging pump. Instead of a DHW cylinder, the Vitotrans 353 fresh water station can also be used, generating instantaneous DHW. If required, an additional heat generator can be integrated to cover peak loads.

It has a heating output of 39.5kW and cooling output of 21.7kW. COP is said to be 5.6 at A7/W35 to EN14511.
