Mitsubishi launches propane Ecodan
13th November 2023UK: Mitsubishi Electric has announced the launch of its Ecodan heat pump using propane refrigerant and promising higher COPs.
The Ecodan R290 (PUZ-WZ), debuted at the ISH exhibition in March, is being manufactured in the Mitsubishi Electric factory in Livingston, Scotland.
It is available in heating capacities of 5, 6 and 8kW, providing flow temperatures of up to 75°C on demand at ambient temperatures as low as -15°C. Application range is said to be down to -25°C.
Describing the launch of the new Ecodan as a big step towards more sustainable home heating, Mitsubishi Electric says the units can achieve COPs greater than four in heating mode.
It claims SCOPs for heating water to 35ºC varying between 4.49 and 4.62, while the SCOP at 55ºC varies from 3.53 to 3.56. Sound pressure levels at 1m are 40dBA.
