Low Sound Cover for Daikin heat pumps

EUROPE: Daikin is to launch a new sound-deadening cover for its Altherma heat pumps in sensitive urban areas.

With Europe becoming increasingly urbanised, and with a majority of people choosing to live and work in towns and cities, quiet operation of heat pumps is increasingly important.

The new Daikin Altherma Low Sound Cover has been developed to ensure compliance with new tougher regulations now being imposed across a range of countries including Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Said to be unobtrusive and easy to fit, the new Low Sound Cover is said to be capable of reducing noise levels by up to 3dBA, without affecting performance.

The cover can be combined with a range of Daikin Altherma outdoor units, including the Daikin Altherma 2 ERLQ-C range and the latest Daikin Altherma 3 ERGA-D series.

Measuring 970mm x 1190  x 740mm, the new Low Sound Cover is manufactured from sheet metal casing with a series of louvres to the front offering a streamlined appearance. It is supplied flat packed, with simple instructions enabling easy assembly on-site.

The Low Noise Sound Cover will be available from next month.
