Carrier R1234ze chillers for data centres

EUROPE: Carrier has launched a new range of R1234ze chillers with free cooling option for data centres.

The AquaForce 30XF chillers employ Carrier screw compressors and are available in capacities from 486.4kW to 1464kW.

With an integrated hydronic free-cooling system and variable-speed inverter drives, the chillers are said to deliver energy savings of up to 50% during total free-cooling operation.

The chillers boast what is described as an ultra-fast recovery system that, in the event of a power cut, can resume 100% of cooling output within two minutes of power being restored.

Operating range is -20ºC to 46ºC, making the chillers suitable for use in cold, temperate, and hot climates. Carrier’s smart monitoring system ensures high efficiency and performance, while variable-speed fans further increase energy efficiency and support quiet operation at part-load.

The hydronic free-cooling system is available in a glycol-free applications where glycol is only inside the chiller, which reduces the risk of leakage of glycol.
