Carrier launches HT propane heat pump
6th February 2025FRANCE: Carrier has entered the market for high temperature air-source heat pumps on propane (R290) refrigerant with the launch of the AquaSnap 61AQ.
The launch marks the company’s first high-temperature air-source reversible heat pump for commercial applications using a hydrocarbon refrigerant.
Specifically designed and optimised for R290, the AquaSnap 61AQ is said to deliver heating up to 75°C at outdoor temperatures as low as -7°C, operating efficiently in conditions down to -25°C.
The monobloc version spans capacities from 40kW to 140kW, while the modular version allows connection of up to four units, extending the capacity range to 560kW. For safety reasons, the propane charge is limited to a maximum of 5kg per circuit.
The use of new inverter scroll compressors and EC variable-speed fans, offer efficient performance based on demand and contribute to a SCOP of around 4 at 30ºC/35ºC. Noise levels are down to 78dB(A).
