Carrier adds R1234ze chiller

FRANCE: Carrier’s AquaForce Vision 30KAVP-ZE air-cooled screw chiller is now available with low GWP HFO refrigerant R1234ze.

The addition of an HFO version to the chiller range launched in June is said to balance environmental responsibility with performance.

It covers cooling capacities from 350kW to 800kW and an SEER rating of up to 5.6.

Four years after the first installation of a water-cooled screw chiller based on HFO refrigerant in Europe, Carrier’s AquaForce chiller units with R1234ze refrigerant have been installed in more than 300 projects throughout the region, in multiple applications such as industrial, data centres, district heating, and healthcare.

The chiller features twin screw compressors equipped with permanent magnet motor technology, EC variable-speed fans, smart energy monitoring function and smart refrigerant leak detection.

Heat recovery and partial heat recovery options are available. A very low brine function will also be available later this year to address specific industrial process applications.

In France, the 30KAVP-ZE range may be eligible for financial incentives of up to €425,000.
