Blended offers energy efficient cooling additive

UK: Specialist gas and chemical products supplier Blended Products has become a distributor of Delta-T, an advanced surfactant said to increase the efficiency of water-based cooling and heating systems.

A liquid additive, Delta-T is based on a patented formula developed by South-Shields-based chemicals firm SafeSol following 15 years of research.

Delta-T is a system additive suitable for residential and commercial heating and cooling systems and is fully compatible with biocides, inhibitors, and glycols.

It works by reducing the surface tension of water, which allows water within a heating or cooling system to reach a much greater surface area of heat exchangers, delivering faster warming and cooling of spaces, with the potential to cut associated running costs by up to 27%.

Describing the advantages of Delta-T, Blended Products MD Alex Robinson said: “Not only does it offer customers a quick return on their investment, but its mass adoption can significantly mitigate UK energy demands.”

SafeSol spent 15 years researching and developing Delta-T alongside the University of the West of Scotland. It was patented in 2023.
