Airedale extends chiller range

UK: Airedale has extended its range of heat pump and cooling-only chillers with scroll and inverter screw models for use with R32, R1234ze and R513A.

Two new ranges are introduced: iChill, Airedale by Modine’s first inverter-driven screw chiller, and the SpiraChill scroll chiller.

Airedale reveals that these new ranges are the result of a new agreement signed with another OEM. Airedale does not name the OEM but the chillers appear to be similar to models available from Italian manufacturer Clivet.

SpiraChill offers a cooling and heating capacity from 215-1260kW with partial and full heat recovery on all models. Using the latest in scroll compressor technology, SpiraChill is optimised for R32.

Suitable for both comfort and process applications, SpiraChill operates with an in-built sequencer that permits up to six units to be added to the master unit. With scroll compressors that operate up to eight stages, SpiraChill is said to offer excellent part load efficiencies and highly accurate set point control. SEERs are up to 4.9 (cooling only) and 4.8 (heat pump).

The inverter-driven iChill screw chiller

Airedale’s first inverter-driven screw chiller, iChill is designed for efficient and precise load matching. Optimised for low GWP refrigerant R1234ze and lower GWP refrigerant R513A, it covers capacities from 204-1423kW.

With high full-load and seasonal efficiency, iChill is suitable for comfort and process applications and is available as a cooling only chiller, heat pump, or multi-function offering simultaneous heating and cooling operation.

Like the SpiraChill, iChill operates with an in-built sequencer that permits up to six units to be added to the master unit. SEERs are up to 5.42 on R1234ze and up to 5.39 on R513A.
