Mitsubishi factory wins award

Mitsubishi Electric

UK: Mitsubishi Electric won an award for outstanding achievement at last night’s Scottish Engineering Awards in Glasgow.

A President’s Award for Outstanding Achievement was given to Mitsubishi’s Livingston factory for its “significant contribution towards raising the standard of the sector”.

In particular, the company was praised for diversifying further in export markets, expanding production capacity at its base in Livingston and securing Livingston as the location of its European r&d facility.

The Scottish Engineering Awards 2014 were presented before over 400 people at the Marriott Hotel last night.

While celebrating the 20th anniversary of its Livingston factory last year, Mitsubishi Electric was also able to announce the relocation to Scotland of the UK Branch of the Mitsubishi Electric R&D Centre Europe (MERCE).
