Carel backing for HFC-free supermarkets

carel-usaUSA: The US subsidiary of Italian controls and humidification specialist Carel has revealed its vision for US supermarkets to become free of HFC refrigerants.

Commenting on the company’s decision to back its support for “natural” refrigerants by joining the North American Sustainable Refrigeration Council (NASRC), Carel USA’s national sales and marketing manager – retail,  Erin Cousler, said: “Carel’s ultimate vision is an HFC-free supermarket industry.

“Carel’s solution development and project deployments in the European market have demonstrated that natural refrigerants are a sustainable solution for all climates and for different applications,” she added.

The NASRC is an influential non-profit organisation committed to advancing the deployment of natural refrigerants in supermarket refrigeration systems in North America.

“Together with NASRC, we hope to raise awareness about natural refrigerants, educate supermarkets about their options and to address the unique set of challenges that are stagnating the success of naturals here in the US.”

Ms Cousler had previously spoken on behalf of the NASRC’s Policy Committee at the EPA-hosted US Stakeholder Meeting on HFCs and the Montreal Protocol in February.
